movie review: Tron Legacy

I liked it. (Things I didn’t like: the casual attitude towards program death, the sexualization of women’s clothing in the grid, the lack of motorcycle helmets.) Overall, though, it was a super-fun movie.
I think it’s really interesting that there’s a trend (or maybe it’s just in the way I’m looking at things) in movies to highlight the idea that we have more control over our reality than we think — the power of the mind, the power of the individual, the power of imagination.
So far we’ve had:
Iron Man (if you can build it, you can use it)
Inception (if you can dream it, you can do it)
Tron Legacy (if you can code it, you can build it)
In upcoming superhero movies, there’s Green Lantern (if you can imagine it, you can manifest it) and Green Hornet (if you decide to become a hero, you can be).
Back to Tron Legacy — it’s already in my netflix queue. Would watch again. (Would love to watch the original Tron again, but — oh, wait, Disney pulled it for ‘remastering.’) ((PS check youtube))
