movie review: Brave

Eh. I had high expectations, and I didn’t think it delivered. Things this movie had:

1. pretty visuals
2. a nice song

It was watchable! I enjoyed the experience of watching it! But!

Things this movie did not have, that I was really hoping for:

1. a female lead I could wholeheartedly embrace
2. a coherent storyline
3. a plot that made sense

I mean, I think I got what they were trying to do, I just didn’t think it worked. It felt disjointed, and it seemed like they fell back on stereotypes that didn’t fit the worldbuilding they’d done.

(On the other hand, ‘year of the archer’ FTW, and it did inspire some really awesome fanart!)
