life goals

Sometimes when I talk to people, they ask about my goals. I’m not sure why; I don’t think I’ve ever asked anyone except high school seniors about their goals, and even then it was mostly because it was a less awkward topic of conversation than anything else I could think of.

Still, goals. Apparently, it’s good to have some. So here are some things I would like to happen in my lifetime.

1. For the walrus to get his bucket.

2. For the Trix rabbit to get the Trix.

3. For news programs to run clips of cute animals before and after every commercial break, as a de-stresser.

tv review: The Middleman (disc 1)

Really, the whole show can be summed up by this exchange:

THE GUY WHO’S KIND OF LIKE FRASER FROM DUE SOUTH: “You know how in comic books there’s all kinds of mad scientists and aliens and androids and monsters and all of them want to either destroy or take over the world?”

AWESOME WOMAN WHO PLAYED LAUREN IN WHITE COLLAR: “In comic books, sure.”

LIKE FRASER BUT MORE FUNNY: “Well, it really does work like that.”

In other words, it’s a good time. Though four episodes in a row led me to almost actually say to my family, “Wow am I glad to see you — I came downstairs and no one was here, and I was all freaked out for a minute that you’d been abducted by aliens. Or something.” So maybe space the eps out a little.
