movie notes: The Bourne Legacy

(Watched it last weekend, watched it again this weekend, finally got around to making a longer post about it!)

Stated movie run time: 2 hrs 15 minutes
Actual run time when I watch it: 1 hr 37 minutes

So there were names carved into the boards in the cabin, right? This is what I could come up with:

first board: Greg Russell, Geoff Nash, Nigel Ward, Brad Knoll

second board: Jason Bourne
[harder to read: Lt Mle Wallace, Maxwe? (maybe Maxine), R(something) Patch 11 1 13 (interesting since it's written like a date, but it hasn't happened yet)]

third board: Greg R(something), Matt Phillips, what looks like part of Nigel Ward again (busy guy!), a couple drawings, and an arrow pointing left with the letters MF

Quotes:
“I went off the grid for four days; that’s why I’m here. Skipped my check in, now I’m on this bullshit scavenger hunt.”

“I thought I was having my wrist slapped, but now I’m not so sure. Still trying to figure out if you’re supposed to kill me or give me a pep talk.”

“What kind of weapons system is this guy operating?”

“He’s probably got a rifle.”


“Hey Doc! I need my watch!”

“Is that your name?”

“James? No. What — you don’t know my name?”

“I’ve got a plan, and it’s just not that complicated. What I’m going to do is wait for the next person to show up to kill you, and maybe they can help me.”

“But I told you, it’s on the other side of the planet.”

“Guess where we’re going.”

“Are we lost?”

“No. Just looking at our options.”

“I was kind of hoping we were lost.”

one more Bourne Legacy note

So, in the scene in Marta’s house, when the two agents attack her? I wondered how they handwaved Aaron’s sudden arrival/rescue. Did he rush in from the back door? (Two more agents were in a car out front, so presumably he didn’t come in that way.) Maybe in through a window?

I re-watched this scene at least five times. As far as I can tell, he comes out of a closet (or pantry, or whatever you call that place where you keep your brooms and you extra paper towels and stuff). Not from outside at all — he was already in the house.

(Which, one — creepy! And two, in that case, why the long delay in leaping out? Was he distracted? Playing Angry Birds? WHAT WAS HE WAITING FOR?)
