kudos to kudos

AO3 offers the ‘kudos’ option, which is (as far as I can tell) pretty popular. I like it because it’s such a simple transaction — it’s ‘hey, I liked this’ and ‘thanks for sharing’ all wrapped up in one simple click.

And sometimes I get ‘you’ve got kudos’ announcements in my email, which is always so exciting! All kudos are amazing, but sometimes someone will kudos a very old story, or an obscure fandom story, or just something totally unexpected, and I’m all, ‘ahh you liked that one! I liked that one too!’

Basically, kudos to you, AO3. And kudos to kudos.
