It’s cold enough today that I drove my car for 20 minutes, then let it sit in the sun for half an hour while I did errands, and when I got back in there was still frost on the hood.
Snow is predicted for tomorrow — about an inch. The big question: is that an inch like last Saturday (predicted a dusting, got 8 inches), or an inch like last Tuesday (predicted 2-5 inches, got a dusting)?

On a spectrum of sequels, with Mulan 2 at the ‘so horrible I wish I didn’t know it existed’ end and Thor 2 at the ‘surprisingly exceeded the original’ end, Despicable Me 2 was definitely closer to the Thor side.
Thing I Liked:
I liked that they referenced the first movie without making it a big deal. Kyle the weird dog-like thing, and Gru’s mom, and Dr. Nefario — it didn’t feel like the movie went out of its way to explain the backstory, and that was cool.
Thing I Thought Was Weird:
This one was a lot about the minions, so I have to admit — I find the minions a little weird. I just don’t get them! (The only thing I can guess with them is that they are almost entirely present-focused, with little to no concept of past or future.)
Overall:
Glad I watched it! Gru is a surprisingly admirable parental figure.
