Each time I drive to work, I pass a house with a handwritten sign taped to the mailbox. The sign reads: $100
It’s exactly the kind of sign you might see on a piece of furniture out by the road, or some other item for sale in someone’s yard. (Though to be fair, usually the sign would say FREE, or some variation of that, like FREE TOMATOES, PLEASE DO NOT TAKE CHAIR.)
But there’s nothing around this sign that appears to be for sale. Are they selling their mailbox? If so, why? Maybe they’re just asking for $100 to be put in the box. Maybe there already *is* $100 in the box, and they’re waiting for someone to take it.
Anyway, it’s all very interesting at 8:45 in the morning.
