apartment update
Aug. 7th, 2014 06:14 pmI’m beginning to suspect that I accidentally purchased a set of silverware designed for giants. (When I was in the store, it looked totally normal! But it was a BB&B, so everything was sort of giant-sized anyway.)
Supposedly, the set includes teaspoons, soup spoons, regular forks, salad forks*, and knives. I’ve been suspicious ever since I first washed them that there was something not quite right about the sizes, but now I’m ready to say for certain: my silverware is very definitely oversized.
Good Point:
Don’t need to purchase serving spoons! My so-called “soup spoons” will do the job nicely.
Less Good Point:
My silverware organizer is designed for normal-sized flatwares, and now my knives and my spoons (the littler ones, even!) are clashing in the corner.
(*Which fork is supposed to be the salad fork? The big one, or the small one? At my house these were always called “forks” — the normal sized ones, and “dessert forks” — the little ones. Why would I want to use a different fork for my salad? Then I would have to wash TWO forks.)
