free food day
Mar. 12th, 2015 06:53 amIn an effort to encourage inter-team unity, we are having a potluck lunch at work today. There are 13 people included between the two teams, and (presumably in an effort to make sure we didn’t all show up with chips and salsa) there was a sign-up sheet. Or rather, a “put down your name and what you’re bringing” sheet.
(Which is the only way I know that the planned “delicious group lunch” may not be the rousing success we’d all like to imagine.)
Because out of the 13 total, only 8 people put their names down at all, and one of them just wrote “?” as their contribution. According to the sheet, this will be our menu:
*veggie platter
*chips and dip
*pasta salad
*spanakopita
*yogurt & granola
*blueberry crisp
*cookies/brownies
*?
I mean, the good news is that I’m happy to eat most of that stuff, and it’s not like I usually whip up a gourmet meal for my lunch or anything (see yesterday’s lunch: a bagel). But it will be interesting to see how the whole thing plays out.
