too soon?

There is a definitely autumnal chill to the air this morning, so I absolutely understand the urge to suddenly surround ones self with pumpkins and sweaters.

(I lit a candle yesterday! It has been MONTHS since even adding that tiny bit of heat to the apartment seemed like a good idea!)

And in the interests of full disclosure: at the start of September, I did put up a flag on the balcony that shows birch trees with colorful fall leaves. (It seemed ridiculous at the time, being so hot, but the leaves HAVE already started changing around here.)

Which is a long lead up to say this: one of my neighbors has put up a “Happy Halloween” flag, as of September 8th. I feel like it’s a little early for that, but hey, whatever works.
