marcicat | movie review: The Dark Knight Rises

I mostly knew that this movie was part 3 of 3 (or more, whatever), but I didn’t figure not seeing part 2 would make much difference. Turns out it sort of did? Though I actually think that not knowing what people were talking about made me enjoy the movie more than I would have otherwise.

Overall, I thought it was better than I expected. Maybe even much better than I expected, but my expectations were really, really low. I was disappointed that Miranda turned out to be evil, but I really liked Catwoman’s mask/ears/glasses combo. So clever, and stylish too!

Even from a suspending disbelief, comics!verse perspective, the movie didn’t make ~~much~~ any sense. It actually made more sense if you assumed Alfred hired the Inception team to snap Bruce out of his depression/deathwish funk, and the whole thing was an elaborate dream setup.

But yes, better than I expected, though LONG. I would like to read all the fanfic about the five months the city was in lockdown. ALL THE FANFIC.
