This is the month when I’m supposed to write my self-evaluation for work — it’s part of my annual review, which has always been sort of a hit or miss thing at this job. Since I wasn’t at all sure I’d receive any feedback from my boss, I figured I’d ask for feedback from my boss-lings. I handed out the self-eval questions to my coworkers and said, “hey, if you want to fill this out about me, that’d be cool.”
I should have predicted the results — it’s so clear in hindsight. What’s that saying? About eavesdroppers hearing people talking smack about them? Well, all of the reviews had their own ego-diminishing moments, which isn’t a bad thing, although I thought one was particularly ill-considered.
After my movie viewing last night, I entertained myself with the idea of putting up this quote by my computer:
“See? I inspired you. I’m an authority figure, that’s what I’m supposed to do.”
Then when people asked about it, I could say, “Oh yes, it’s from the movie triple x, you know, Samuel L. Jackson says it.” It would make me laugh every time.
