My workplace is closed for the day. Sort of. I mean, the building is closed, and we’re not supposed to go there, but we can work from home. Which means remotely logging onto computers that are at the building that’s closed.
(Supposedly, this is optional. But you don’t get paid for the day if you don’t either a) work remotely, or b) use vacation time. And I’m not sure how the rest of the team would react if someone was just like, ‘hey, I don’t feel like working today.’)
I have mixed feelings about this, but mostly I’m just enormously glad it’s not my job to coordinate ANY of this. Most especially the three-day sales conference that was supposed to start today. (I mean, obviously it’s not starting today, but someone must be responsible for figuring out all those changed flights and hotel reservations and conference room bookings. I wish them the best of luck!)
