Just finished watching disc 2 of season 5, so that covered Winston Churchill and the daleks plus ep one of the weeping angels and River. A few thoughts.

1. The daleks. Okay, so I was prepared for the Daleks: Power Rangers edition schnazz colors, but nobody told me they had dvd drives. Seriously, they’ve got a slot right there in the front*, it looks like you’re supposed to insert a dvd, or maybe a really big version of those replicator chips from the original Star Trek. I’d like to put my vote in now for that being the new!dalek weakness.

2. The scientist guy. Come on, Doctor. Love is more powerful than pain. Don’t you even *watch* the show?

3. The crack. I’m enjoying the whole ‘mysterious ongoing arc’ thing they have going on, but I feel like when they did it with Bad Wolf it showed up in these creative ways. And now it’s just like, ‘hey, a crack! and there it is again!’

4. The angels. I thought they were… not evil? Not killers bent on destruction? I’m a bit confused, actually. That’s not the part of ‘Blink’ I was paying attention to. (*Loved* that Amy did the close one eye thing.)

5. River. I know her role this season was to be the one fans didn’t like, but I thought she was hilarious in this ep. “Sweetie, I need you!”

6. Amy + the Doctor. OMG aren’t they the cutest? Also, I don’t think shows should split cliffhangers over multiple discs. Argh.

(*It even shows up on their viewscreen thing. It’s calling out for a lolcat. INSERT KITTEN. DOES NOT COMPUTE. CANCEL PLANS FOR DESTRUCTION. PROCURE NOMS. It would be like the ultimate kitten-on-a-roomba youtube clip.)
