holiday luncheon in review

marcicatSome thoughts, in no particular order:
1. Really, workplace, please go back to getting Panera boxed lunches for these things. This fancy food served buffet-style never winds up in the correct ratios, and there’s always some kerfluffle about whether the meat is cooked enough.
2. Having said that, the whole event ran surprisingly on schedule, so kudos for that!
3. Scratch tickets were the most common yankee swap gift. One person brought alcohol. One person brought Star Wars gum. It was an interesting crowd.
4. I wound up with an awesome fleece blanket, but I did have to swap for it. Luckily the person who had it isn’t someone I work with directly, or I would have felt a lot worse about dumping my original gift on them.
5. To all of the people who “never use gift bags,” I heard your judge-y tones yesterday, as you handed off your unwanted wrapping to me. Today I revel in my gift bag bonanza, so thanks ever so much!
