I’m skipping the regularly scheduled ‘memorable search’ list this week, because I’m so excited about this.

The Backstory:
I have two electric candles that turn on automatically when it’s dark. They went up at Christmas, and I liked the effect so much that they’ve stayed up ever since. Like nightlights, I guess.

The Dilemma:
A few weeks ago, one of the bulbs burned out. Now, at Christmas, replacement bulbs are everywhere. In May? Not so much. I was *somewhat* sure that I’d purchased a couple replacements last year, and *very* sure that I had Absolutely No Idea which box they were in. Because Christmas is one of those holidays that expands to fit any available space for me. There is possibly an alarming ratio of ‘space taken up by Christmas stuff’ to ‘total space’ in my apartment.

The Minor Miracle:
But it was pretty cloudy yesterday, and I was missing my candlelight. ‘Maybe,’ I thought optimistically, ‘it will be in the first box I check!’ This seemed enormously unlikely. And YET! THERE THEY WERE! In the FIRST BOX I CHECKED! TWO REPLACEMENT BULBS! There was excitement. Possibly a victory dance.
