marcicatYesterday I rewatched ‘Independence Day.’ (The first one.) It’s held up surprisingly well, given that it came out 20 years ago.
1. I retract my previous assertion that Connie is wearing David’s shirt when they do the ‘taking off in the alien spaceship’ scene. It is clearly not *her* shirt, but it is also not the one David wears for most of the movie. It is plaid flannel, though. There is a lot of plaid flannel in ‘Independence Day.’ (Like it was made in the ’90s or something!)
2. Russell’s kids names are Miguel, Alicia, and Troy. Apparently I found nothing at all strange about their family when I first watched this movie. I 10,000% wish they had been in the sequel.
3. One of the survivors mentions that he was in the subway tunnels, which makes me wonder if the people who stayed in the cable company’s basement bomb shelter were maybe okay too. I hope so!
