“it’s not that kind of door!”

Might I just say, “Thanks!” to all the SPN writers who had a part in the finale ep for season 6. I’m not sure which one of them came up with it, but ohai-get-out-of-jail-free card for getting shanked by an angel blade!

It reminds me of Doctor Who, where they came up with the ‘it does everything’ sonic screwdriver, and then had to make up ‘deadlocking’ for when they needed it not to work.

(Which led to the hilarious exchange between River and the 11th Doctor in the weeping angels ep, when the Doctor can’t get to Amy and yells “It’s deadlocked!” and River says, “It can’t be, it’s not that kind of door!” To which the Doctor replies, of course, “Well, it is!” Classic handwave moment; it was great.)

So yeah, that’s how I felt about the angel blade thing. “Wow,” I thought. “Fans are going to have a field day with that.” Let’s all get back to writing!
