January's always a little bit of a wacky month financially, just because of the sheer dissonance between it and December. So many things go on sale at the end of the year that it makes sense to stock up on some things, and combined with holiday shopping, there's just a lot of buying stuff going on. Then in January, not so much. Most of the flex money goes to car registration, and because of that I try to either pull other buying into December or push it into February.

But I am now the proud owner of a $10 coupon for the hardware store (birthday rewards points, heck yeah!), and I am Super Excited to go buy some stuff today. (Tea lights, probably, along with the ever-useful oil for the car and a new spray bottle for the bathroom cleaner.)
