Here’s a thing I’ve never understood: telling people who are nervous about something, like public speaking, to imagine the audience naked, as if this will somehow ease their nerves. HOW WILL THAT HELP? It’s like taking an awkward and nerve-wracking situation and making it a million times MORE awkward and nerve-wracking. Is that the point? Maybe I’ve mis-understood this advice for all this time, and it is actually meant to indicate that whatever you’re about to do isn’t the *most* awful thing — after all, it could be even worse; the audience could be naked.
