workaday Wednesday
Jun. 27th, 2018 05:05 amYou know what I love*? When I send an email to someone asking a question, mentioning that I was told to ask them specifically… And they email me back three days later with, ‘Are you all set on this now?’
No, of course not. Why would I be all set? Like maybe I just decided it wasn’t important after all? Or after I got no response from the one person I’d been told had the information I needed, I just shouted my question to the void, and the void answered back?
It seems like a particularly non-subtle way of “replying without having to reply,” thus bumping my email back down to the bottom of the queue, but I tend to be suspicious. Unfortunately it’s one of those situations where it’s like: Door #1 — deliberate evasion! Door #2 — general incompetence! Door #3 — ???? And we’re all hoping really, really hard for Door #3, but I have no idea what could be behind it.
(*Love might not be the right word.)
