Aug. 23rd, 2018 04:57 amSo I have a pink salt rock, because I once worked at a store that sold them, and why not? And it lives near my plants, because it’s pretty, and the plants are also pretty, so it seemed like a natural combo.
When it was super hot and humid, the rock started melting. Dissolving? Turning into a liquid. Which seemed slightly alarming, but not actively dangerous, so I put a plastic cover under it. So then it was still melting, but in a more contained way. (In retrospect, probably I should have just moved it somewhere else? I don’t know, it’s not like there was anywhere in the apartment that wasn’t humid.)
Anyway, so when it started to get cooler and drier, the SCIENCE started! The liquid is reforming into salt crystals. Tiny, square, salt crystals — I LOVE THEM.
