marcicat | it’s time!

Approximately 92% of the year, I am a big fan of not having my space be too cluttered up with things. (Which is not the same as not HAVING my space be cluttered up with things 92% of the year. It’s really more a general sense of ‘I should tidy that up,’ and enjoying looking at a counter or tabletop that is mostly clear.)

The exception is Christmas, when I suddenly have the urge to spread Christmas decorations over ever available surface. Put things in the windows? Yes, absolutely! Create a winter scene on the top of the bookshelf with a dozen separate and completely un-dustable pieces? Sounds like a great idea! Leave boxes of decorations all over the floor for weeks while they get unpacked and distributed, only to do the same thing in reverse a month later? Absolutely!

I mean, I’m having fun, clearly, or I wouldn’t be doing it. No one’s even going to see them except for me and the cat. I just think it’s neat to experience my brain suddenly going ‘yes, let’s participate!’
