marcicatI'm going on vacation next week, so I'm trying to get all my work projects to a good stopping point. Which is an interesting balancing act of making it look like it's fine for me to go because I'm on top of things, without making it look like I'm actually doing two weeks worth of work in one. (Because then they'll just double the workload, since apparently if you can do something once it means you are willing and able to do it all the time forever.)
At the same time, work is promise-threatening to assign more projects to me, and there's **drama** about whether an employee who switched buildings is coming back, and the new boss just hit that phase in learning a new job where everything seems overwhelmingly awful and is feeling very tetchy about it.
Meanwhile, I considered doing some job searching while I was at work, but I decided to brainstorm fic ideas instead. What a week it's been already!
