Sometimes a fic just stands on its own, fantastic and amazing, and I love it to bits. Then there are fics that I love pieces of, or specific quotes from, or I love the title, or someone’s icon who replied.

And then there’s the fic that makes me laugh every time I read the summary, which is still close enough to the top of my pinboard page so that I see it *every* time I go there.

Reasons To Appreciate This Fic Beyond It Just Being A Good Story

1. It’s the first fic that I’ve read with this particular relationship (Steve/Tony/Bucky).

2. The title is based on an xkcd comic.

3. The author summary begins “Tony finds Bucky frozen in the Alps”, which, of course, reminds me of what I learned in January from wikipedia — that in one instance of profanity censorship, the phrase “This is what happens when you find a stranger in the Alps” was used in place of, well, I’m sure we can all guess.*

(*No, but seriously, can you even imagine Samuel L. Jackson saying “I have had it with these monkey-fighting snakes on this Monday-to-Friday plane”? Because apparently that’s how it’s edited on the tv version of ‘Snakes on a Plane.’ Kind of… takes away the impact of the sentence, as far as I can tell.)
