Can't believe no one told me that 'cozy mystery' is apparently an actual genre now, and I had to find out from BookBub. Although, cozy mystery? Eh, I'm usually in a 'yes cozy, no mystery' kind of mood.

HOWEVER. This opens up an entire realm of possibilities.

*cozy sci-fi
*cozy fantasy
*cozy historical fiction
*cozy adventure
*cozy pirate (pirate is a genre, right?)
*cozy romance (fluff squared!)
*cozy lgbt (#noangst)
*cozy cozy (MAXIMUM cozy!)

I feel like this is the opposite of the "gritty" genre modifier. And I am SO READY!

FWIW, I believe there's also a genre that is "cosy catastrophe," which is apocalyptic fiction that focuses on a few people's day-to-day lives and how they get by, rather than on battling aliens or wars or whatever.
