fun with silica packets, chapter 2
May. 25th, 2020 06:07 amIn what was surely a 'funniest home videos'-worthy fumble, I managed to spill my water bottle in a dramatic way last night. (The good news: the computer did not get wet! The bad news: Pretty much everything else within a five-foot diameter DID get wet.)
Most things seemed pretty okay -- it wasn't a huge quantity of water, it just had an impressive splash zone. And it was water, not something more challenging to clean up. But a small amount of water got on a postcard that I really like, and you know how you can blot it off with a paper towel, but it's still kind of damp, and you just *know* it's going to dry all wavy and stuff?
I figured I might as well try the magic of silica packets, so I (carefully) stashed the postcard in the bag of packets overnight. Success! It's totally dry, with not a single wrinkle in sight. Silica packets: saving the day again! For free!
