marcicatI got a $25 gift card from a work raffle, which was great, except that it was a "virtual gift card," which -- according to the vague directions which accompanied it, meant I could only use it online or via phone. (Which meant online. Haha like I'm going to voluntarily talk on the phone if it is not absolutely necessary.)
Gift cards are a real pain, even though I always tell myself I should be grateful, and I am! $25! That's awesome! AND using the card is a pain! I contain multitudes.
Most online shopping is not set up to handle multiple credit cards on the same order, or at least the sites I tried were not, or else I just couldn't figure it out. (Because of course it's CALLED a gift card, but really it's a pre-paid credit card. I assume work does it that way for some reason I don't want to know about.)
After failing multiple times to get this card to work, I finally used the virtual gift card to buy myself an actual gift card in the same amount. Success! (Honestly, it felt like a dumb solution, but it did work.)
