probably still better than "Look out!"
Jun. 13th, 2020 06:38 amWent for a walk on the local rec trail yesterday; very popular with cyclists. This is what I learned:
Helpful to call when bicycling up behind a walker: "On your left!"
(I mean, I definitely had to look at my hands and make a quick guess about which was my left, but I knew what they meant. 'There's something on your left! Or about to be on your left! Don't move to your left!')
Not helpful: "Behind you!"
(What is that even? What action do you want me to take, person shouting at me? Am I ducking? Should I run away? Should I turn around? WHAT IS BEHIND ME AND HOW DO I AVOID IT, IF INDEED THAT IS WHAT I SHOULD DO?)
