oh, technology
Dec. 5th, 2020 06:54 amNothing like waking up on a Saturday morning to find out your phone is experiencing a meltdown. (Not literally! No fire danger! A small victory!)
For about a week now, I've noticed my phone is unexpectedly restarting -- always while charging, which was, I admit, easy to ignore.
A couple days ago, I noticed that after it did an unexpected restart, it had trouble finding the wifi again, even when my computer assured me it was working fine.
Last night I had to force restart it (after it had already restarted itself) to get it to pick up wifi again, and I thought 'gosh, I really need to research what's going on with my phone!'
Hahahahahaha then this morning I woke up and my phone got stuck in a restart loop. I *think* it's crashing every time it finds wifi. I managed to shut it down all the way (PS very creepy when you turn off your phone all the way and then it TURNS ITSELF BACK ON) and then restart and turn wifi off entirely. We'll see if I'm able to use it as a wifi-free device for a bit.
In the meantime, I'm in the process of ordering a new phone, since I've had this one since 2016, which apparently is pretty okay for a phone lifespan. WOW THIS WAS NOT HOW I IMAGINED THIS MORNING GOING.
