holiday inflatables
Dec. 13th, 2020 06:54 amOh, neighbors! They do the darnedest things! Luckily these are not my literal neighbors -- they're in the next apartment building over, so I have an excellent view of their holiday inflatable shenanigans, but I'm not close enough to be irritated by the noise of the air compressors.
This is the apartment that first introduced me to concept of the inflatable Santa outhouse -- which is back on display, but this year it's not alone!
They've added an ENORMOUS Santa that is maybe a hot air balloon? Or just floating in the air above a snowman? So far I have consistently been distracted by it's hugeness, and they only inflate it at night, so I haven't gotten a very close look at it.
But it is SO BIG. The apartment in question is on the ground floor, so they annex the space in front of the building for their holiday display (questionably allowed, but probably one of those things the property management company wouldn't care about unless other people started complaining). And the Enormous Santa is tall enough that it tops out about halfway up the balcony railing on the second floor apartment. It's Very Tall.
The scale difference between Outhouse Santa and Enormous Santa is both vast and vastly weird. They've put them at opposite ends of their annexed space, but the space isn't that big -- maybe twenty feet, max. So they're still pretty close. It sure is something!
