here is a thing I learned

A thing I have learned about packing up to move: don't bother packing the towels.
*Extra towels seemed like one of those things I could easily pack early, so I did, in one of the containers with other things like, uh... maybe some blankets?
*Except it turns out that as I've approached the 'packed enough' stage, there has been a convergence of sorts: 1) fewer containers to choose from; 2) fewer things to pack, so there's less options for filling in awkward spaces; and 3) I'm running out of bubble wrap.
*TOWELS TO THE RESCUE! Extremely useful in filling in the empty spaces around things like lamps (why do I have so many lamps????), and just generally keeping things from shifting around when the stuff-to-container ratio isn't quite a match.
*Does this mean that I will now have no idea where any of my towels are when we move? Very probably yes. (Although, to be fair, most of them were a surprise to me when I packed them the first time, so it's not like I was very aware of them before either.)
*I've also used most of my curtains in similar space-filling, awkward-shape-wrapping ways, but I acknowledge that perhaps not all curtains would be equally suited for such things.
