(*where ‘today’ actually means ‘Monday, but I got distracted.’)
This kid I once knew, by Minnow (Calvin & Hobbes)
Susie in college, finding Calvin’s comic strips online. I think I was most drawn to this one because somewhere deep down in my heart of hearts, I hope I someday feel this mature about my former classmates. It’s nice to think that maybe we all do grow up to wish each other the best.
She doesn’t write, except to write, “I love this one. I love them all,” on her favorite strip, anonymously.
Lions and Tigers, by starlingthefool (Calvin & Hobbes / Inception fusion)
Eames is Calvin, all grown up (mostly).
In a jungle in Eames’ subconscious, Arthur turns at the sound of a twig snapping. He turns with his gun drawn, muscles taut and ready for a fight. He’s not ready to see a tiger; massive, lithe, striped orange and black in great big fuck-off stripes, paw frozen in the act of stepping towards him, green eyes fixed on Arthur’s.
Zeroes and Ones, by classlicity (Inception/Tron fusion)
Inception on the Grid! (What more do you need?)
Tapping twice on his visor to make it recede, Arthur narrows his eyes at the Trojan who’s conspicuously cycling his power lines through the rainbow again. “The chance to cause chaos, destruction. You viruses like that, right?”
Of Bowties, Trains, and Pajama Parties, by igrab (Tron, Tron Legacy)
Sam and Ed meet at Encom’s ‘take your child to work day.’
When Flynn got back to his office after his afternoon meetings (which, booooring), he found the boys in his office playing with trains – which he could have expected – but also both wearing pajamas, which he should have expected but somehow didn’t.
