Back to work today! We have YET ANOTHER company "town hall" meeting today. These have traditionally been held quarterly. We had the 2023 Q4 meeting in November, as expected.

Then, with zero explanation, we had another one in December. And now there's one in January. WHAT IS HAPPENING.

To be fair, there has been a lot of upheaval since the November meeting. At least one department leader is gone, and that department and the two most closely related to it have been completely rearranged. (Again.) But NONE of that was mentioned in December, and I doubt it will be mentioned today.

I think it's hilarious that companies either don't know or don't care how much people read into these things. They literally had to tell the last CEO to stop including a 'song I'm listening to right now' section at the end of video messages because people were trying to divine information from them. And yet holding a quarterly meeting three months in a row is expected to pass without question.

Are your "Town Halls" like the town halls in my old department, where they started out as being a place to ask questions four years ago but then eventually just became staff meetings where they talk to you for an hour and will not answer any single question?
