(alternately, ‘I can’t believe they call this a service’)

So, insurance. I’m supposed to get a paper bill every month, which generally works okay. Mostly okay, I guess. Anyway, here’s how 2011′s billing has gone so far.

December: Everything seems fine. Receive normal bill for January, for normal amount. Pay bill.

January: Receive February’s bill indicating that I overpaid in January; ‘credit’ is applied to February bill. Am confused, as there seemed to be no reason for my payment to change. Pay bill anyway. Hey, who am I to argue with fifteen dollars less per bill?

February: Receive no bill for March. Call company. ‘WTF?’ I say. ‘My bill is due 3/1 and I have not received it.’ Company says, ‘Oops. Yeah, sorry about that. We didn’t send any of the March bills. Bit of a problem with the system. Normal bill will be mailed soon along with letter of explanation.’

::March arrives::

A letter of explanation comes in the mail. ‘Hey,’ it says. ‘We accidentally under-billed you for January and February. To be made up in March’s bill.’ This seems to explain the sudden lower payment. Okay, whatever. Still no bill.

::days pass::

A *new* letter arrives in the mail. ‘As a valued customer, your payment has been adjusted to this new lower amount.’ (Oh look, it’s the same amount the charged me in January and February, that they just sent me a letter saying was wrong!)

STILL NO BILL. I FEEL LIKE I NEED MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES NOW JUST TO DEAL WITH THIS. WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS COMPANY?

It should *not* be this hard to give someone money.

March love

March forth! With naps, and clouds, and hopefully melting snow without too much flooding. Sometimes, life is more depressing than it seems like it should be. Then there are cats. Who can fathom the mysteries of the universe?

With prayers and thoughts of joy,
Much love,
Marci

1. I was very wary of this movie, since Netflix says ‘This movie is: Dark, Mind-bending, Suspenseful.’ Clearly, I should have known better. (Netflix also says the first Tron movie is ‘Dark.’ Also ‘Imaginative,’ I don’t even know what that’s supposed to mean.) However, the reviews convinced me to give it a go, and it was already in the queue, so why not?

2. Hahahahaha! I loved it. I mean, it was sort of *like* Tron (especially the music), like if Tron was combined with Doctor Who (what with the occasional and unexpected horrible violence), and took place in the non-digital world.

3. Any movie that could be summarized as ‘a group of kids in a post-apocalyptic world run away to help a glowing ball of light free the water supply’ already sounds kind of cool. But then you add in the rollerskating(!) which they do all the time, mostly seemingly at random (can you really rollerskate through the desert?), and it becomes way, way better.

4. It should perhaps be noted that *last* Saturday I watched Ghostbusters 2, with pretty much the same level of enthusiasm as Solarbabies, so, you know, my standards aren’t high. Still, look at them all, rollerskating around! Just like in Power Rangers: The Movie!

5. What made the movie for me: it was like a cool dream, where everyone runs around (or skates!) and climbs up things and slides down ramps, and it doesn’t really make sense but that’s okay because you totally won, and everyone gets to dance around and hug each other and hold hands!
