six page day
Aug. 29th, 2014 08:06 pmAt work, I make notes of each call/email/task that I do during the day — usually just ‘call-person’s name-something identifying.’
(First, because this is super helpful in remembering their name, and using the caller’s name is actually something we’re graded on during call monitoring. Second, because it is helpful to be able to look back if the boss asks who spoke to a particular person, because I definitely don’t remember them all. And third, it gives an interesting way to measure how busy we are each day.)
Normal days are five page days. I’ve never had less than a four page day. Monday and Tuesday, when I basically cried a lot, were both seven page days. Today was a six page day, but everyone else was even more ‘ugh what is this even’ than I was, so it went okay.
BUT OMG I FOUND TWENTY DOLLARS IN MY PANTS POCKET THIS MORNING! It was incredible; I don’t ever remember such a thing occurring. Usually I find things like pennies, or rocks. Expired sale tags were actually a common find when I worked at the store. But a twenty dollar bill was a shock — to the point where I spent a certain amount of time wondering where I could ever have gotten a two dollar bill.
So yeah, that was cool. Kind of puts a dent in that ‘I’m doing a good job tracking my money’ theory, though.
