yard sale weekend!

Yesterday was a big yard sale day around here, so off we went to brave the heat and humidity. I was feeling very kitchen-y, so of course I grabbed up this nifty slicer/grater/shredder. (Just one dollar!) Then I got it home and took it out of the box.

Keeping in mind that I have never owned (or used) ANY of those three kitchen tools in my life, I discovered a vast chasm between my understanding of implements and my ability to put this device together. Even with the “directions” included in the box, it was baffling.

Kitchen tools, man. They’re not kidding around.

yard sale treasures (part 2)

This was my big splurge for the day. A Lamp!

It’s missing a certain something. Which would be a shade, and a method of attaching the shade to the base. Those parts weren’t included. But it’s so pretty!

The plan is: I clean it, and then my mom and I go on a trip to a place that sells lamps and have them work their magic. (So far I’ve… taken a picture? Which isn’t exactly like cleaning.)

[Note: The two pillows were also yard sale finds. Bulky to carry around, but much lighter than books!]
